How to prepare for cleaning

Cleaning Up Dairy Spills

Uh oh! Your kid's daily glass of milk has just turned into a puddle of milk that has already vanished into the carpet. Here are a few tips to keep this spill from turning into a rancid, sour disaster:

1. Clean the spill as best you can, as soon as possible. Use a white rag/cloth to absorb as much of the liquid that you can from the carpet.

2. Use the spotter that our technician provided for you with a clean white rag/cloth. Follow the directions on the label. Repeat the process if necessary. Be careful not to scrub as that can cause permanent damage to your carpet fiber!

3. If there is still a spot or odor emanating from your carpet then give our office a call. Our powerful truck mounted units and carefully handpicked cleaning products will be the most effective at tackling this situation. Call us today at 805-544-4761.

Carpet Care Tip: Take it easy on the soap!

Soap attracts dirt, so even when a tiny amount is used, the carpet will get dirty faster. It is best to use a soap-free spotter since the residue that soap creates in the carpet can be problematic to remove depending on how much was used. We use soap-free detergents that are specifically designed for carpet cleaning to break down dirt and soil without leaving behind residue.

Carpet Care Tip: Clean spills as soon as possible.

Cleaning spills when they happen is the best solution ever for keeping carpet looking its best! Generally speaking you are much more likely to be able to remove a spot if you take care of it right away. You'll want to remove as much of the substance BEFORE using spotters or other cleaning techniques using a white towel to blot the affected area. When you've removed as much of the substance as you can, in most cases we'd recommend using the spotter we left you at the time of your last cleaning (make sure to spot test it first and read the directions on the bottle). If you run out, just let us know and we'll be happy to get you another one. For more carpet care tips (and exclusive promotions), be sure to subscribe to our newsletter on our website.
