Proper care and maintenance of your area rugs includes regular cleanings.
Area rugs enhance your space's beauty and serve as a functional and comfortable addition to your home or office. However, like wall-to-wall carpeting, area rugs require regular cleaning to maintain their appearance and remove soil and other particles that become embedded in the fibers and cause premature wear. Our Cleaning Engineers can clean a number of styles and fiber types on location. However, some area rugs require added processes that cannot be provided in-home.
For area rugs that cannot be cleaned in-home, our sister company Old World Rugs, has an off-site rug cleaning facility where they clean and repair fine handmade, machine made, tufted, and other specialty rugs. We are happy to discuss the best cleaning options for your area rugs at the time of your appointment.
Our Area Rug Cleaning Process
Our friendly staff arrive on time, ready to get to work on your cleaning project.
A complete pre-inspection is performed to determine any unique considerations necessary to get your area rugs looking their best.
Special equipment is placed around the cleaning area to protect walls, floors, and furniture.
The cleaning area is vacuumed thoroughly with our powerful commercial vacuums to remove as much insoluble dry soil as possible.
All spots and stains are identified and pre-treated with appropriate spotters.
A general pre-conditioner is applied to areas being cleaned to break down and dissolve soils for easy removal.
Areas to be cleaned are pre-groomed using one of our professional agitation tools to further loosen soil. (As needed.)
The area to be cleaned is thoroughly rinsed using our state-of-the-art truck mounted HOT water extraction method. Pressure and heat are regulated to prevent the risk over wetting. Everything that we clean is pH balanced, so that no sticky residue is left behind, ensuring that your area rug is left soft and fresh. Note: We may utilize a dry cleaning process that requires no heat for more delicate fibers.
If any spots are not removed during the cleaning process, specialty spotting techniques are employed. (Potential permanent stains, as identified by the cleaning engineer, may not be removed.)
High velocity air movers are utilized immediately after cleaning to promote faster drying.
The carpet pile is groomed to stand up nice and tall while helping to improve evaporation. (As needed.)
