Are allergies driving you nuts?

Are allergies driving you nuts? If you have pets in the home, pet dander and pet hair could be the culprit, especially if you have carpeting. Pet hair can get buried deep within the carpet fibers, despite your best efforts to vacuum on a regular basis and pet dander can aggravate allergies and asthma. The most thorough way to remove these unwanted visitors is with a professional deep cleaning to rinse it all away! When you're ready for a clean and healthy home, let us know. That’s what we are here for!

Carpet Care Tip: Stay Off the Carpet

It's a good idea to schedule your next professional cleaning at a time when you plan to be off the carpeted areas of your home. However, if you do need to walk on the carpet while it's drying, our technician will leave shoe covers for your convenience.

Carpet Care Tip: Use a HEPA filter

This is particularly important if you (or a loved one in your household) suffer from allergies. A HEPA filter is particularly effective at trapping the majority of particles the vacuum collects (even extremely tiny ones), such as dust, dander, and pollen. Our professional vacuums have a double HEPA filter to enable us to remove as much of the insoluble soil from the carpet as possible before even starting the cleaning process.

Carpet Care Tip: Wipe Paws

Wiping off your dog's paws as they come inside is a great way to reduce the amount of dirt and unwanted particles that could be tracked into your home. This can be particularly helpful during periods of wet weather to prevent muddy paw prints on the carpet.

Carpet Care Tip: Removing Mud from Carpet

We want to help you keep your carpet and upholstery looking its very best! While the Central Coast doesn’t get a lot of rain, we have received quite a bit lately and expect to receive more soon. When the rain comes, the opportunities for mud to get tracked onto your carpet arise. Here are some simple guidelines that can help you clean it up:

  1. Don’t clean it up right away. This sounds counter intuitive and is most certainly not the case with every other type of staining (red wine spills, pet accidents, etc.) but when it comes to mud, this is the case. Letting it dry completely prevents you from spreading it and making the situation worse.

  2. Vacuum the affected area. It’s helpful if your vacuum has a beater bar, as that can help to remove the mud from the carpet fibers.

  3. Use the back of a spoon to remove bits of mud from the carpet fibers (if any remain). You could also use the accessory hose on the vacuum to scrape and suck the fibers at the same time.

  4. If there is still a slight discoloration on the carpet, use a bit of warm water and a sponge to dab the areas clean and let it dry naturally.

Side Note: It’s easy to panic when something is spilled or tracked across your carpet but it’s really important not to scrub your carpet, as that can cause permanent damage to the carpet fiber.
